I had a slow start, waiting for the nobles and then the farmers. I decided to try the Siege of Baris this time. I've played this scenario before, but never bothered with Baris. It took 12 years before Baris was conquered. I didn't have 40 weapons ready in the first year. I had to build a fifth weapon maker to make sure of the upkeep. I actually won the scenario with prestige points from the world map and tombs, before the Baris siege completed.
I used two scribes and two farming areas. It worked well most of the time. There were two or three seasons where only 18 of 222 fields were counted because the scribes went off to a feast instead of counting the fields.
