Hail, Amenhotep III!
The far-flung realms that you govern, once subdued by your great ancestors, are now rising up to throw off your divine authority. Indeed, enemies within Egypt itself challenge your scepter, enemies who can only be spoken of in hushed tones and in darkened rooms, less their hand reach out to crush those who challenge them.
I refer, Mighty Pharoah, to the Priests of Amun.
The wealth and glorious stature of Egypt has made these priests powerful beyond anyone's expectations. They have come to believe that they alone speak for the gods on earth. Their contempt for your divine lineage is palpable. Soon they will pronounce that as the Son of Ra, you are merely a figurehead. And they will seize the reins of government for themselves.
Their first move will be to humiliate you in front of the nobles and the people. To do this, they have ordered that a series of cult temples be constructed in a remote mountain gorge, due west of Waset. The religious complex you must build there, Mighty Pharoah, will tax your wealth and your power to the limit.
In a word, the Priests of Amun are hoping you will fail.
That is why, in addition to presenting you with such a difficult task, they continue to demand the payment of an exorbitant tithe as well as the obeisance of your emissaries. But you have no choice. You must cooperate with these over-weening priests, for it is simply too soon to defy their power. If you refuse now, they will declare you a heretic and incite the people to rise up in rebellion. No, you must contend with their demands even while you govern a vast realm and defend it from all enemies.
For it has fallen to you, Amenhotep III, to hold together the legacy created by your mighty ancestors, to preserve the glory of Egypt, and most of all --- to defend the unquestioned authority of Pharaoh, Son of Ra, against all who would tear it down.

Thanks for the warm words, Gweilo2! I think constantly about designing more levels for HGS, but time is taken up so much now with other things. Wish I had two months off just to do more Caesar 4 campaigns!
Anyway, I had done this one awhile ago. It was uploaded at Atomic Games and was lost when their website folded. Glad I could find it and make it available again! Hope the community gets some joy out of it (when you're not cursing me for making it so &%&$# hard!!) |

Yayy, so glad to see there's still some life out there in the world of CotN fans :)
Thanks for uploading, I will have a look.
Why don't you post it in TiltedMill Forum also, so more people might see it?
Sorry, you already did that back in 2008. I thought the title sounded familiar LOL[Edited on 05/16/18 @ 04:56 PM]
