Senusret III ruled between 1870-1831 BC. He subdued the Nubians by military action and set up military garrisons at Semna and Uronati where he also erected stela to warn the Nubian people that this was as far as they may travel. Forts at Mirigissa and Askut took advantage of local trade and acted as supply depots for the garrisons.
The Semna dispatches reveal communication between Thebes and the fort at Semna.
Military scenario, defeat the Nubian raiders and build garrisons to protect your border. |

The gameplay is decent to a certain extent, but it is hampered at the start and much as the game progresses. You start out on a small map. A VERY small map mind you, filled with 150+ villagers, with their huts filling the area. The only way to build your palace is to delete a bunch, and this must be done as the game progresses constantly. The huts continously hamper the plan and layout for your city. Not only this but raiders come IMMEDIATLY at the start of the game in large groups. As you soon get the hang of the scenairo and start moving, you'll soon realize that halfway through the scenairo you're running out of room-on both sides of the river. The map is so small and filled with so many huts and elevations that there just simply isn't enough building spots. And considering the vast amount of resources needed for trade on the world map (turqoise, emeralds, and gold in this case) you're going to need plenty of laborers and overseers-aswell as soldiers and weapons for the millitary missions, city guards, priests for all your services, and tombs. There isn't enough room for a cult temple once you need one. Simply too hard on this size. Mind you, problems are a good thing. You'll have a ton of fun trying to figure this one out.

Far, far, far too much to ask of such a small map. As said above, this scenairo isn't quite finsihable. Too many different resources and soldiers are asked for spots on the world map, and instead of a challenge, it's remarkably irritating. I had literaly filled the map by the time I was 3/4 through. There was nothing more I could do. I tried to schuffle through with vagrants and riots exploding everywhere, but eventually I just gave up. It also didn't help that no merchants came to my city, and 9 raiders attacked me every other peret. This would have been a much better play if the map was doubled in size, or if the villages weren't so numerous... I'd say get rid of about 10% of the villagers and increase map size by about 20%, while putting villages together in neat rows. Yes, yes, impossible to win, but you'll have a great time trying to figure out what to do... Although I posted above that it sounds awful, keep in mind thats a good thing ;-) I'm sure there's a way, I just ahven't found it. I've tried, over and over, but still haven't quite nailed it...

Despite severe playing problems, this was quite a break from a standard scenairo. Instead of food as your trading resource, you had to mine various types of minerals and traded them in for the different neccesities. There was alot more raiding than normal, up to 9 raiders in some cases, so constant security was needed. Lots of millitary attention needed on the map, not only battles, but with garrisons and 'weapon supply'. Then of course, the small map. Not really creative, but required you to think about space... However, that turned out to be not so good. Still a pleasant change from your average scenairo.
Map Design: 3
This is on par, respectively, with most CotN maps. Terrain difference, gaia trees and shrubbery, a big river with fish, and cliffs. Decent.
Story/Instructions: 3
A full story with hints given, and clear instructions-everything thats needed.
Additional Comments:Just too small... Try it out for sure I'd say. You'll have a great time trying to figure it out.
To be totally honest, it's not that this scenairo is poorly developed... There are plenty of worldly events, but the map planning is just ridiculous. That's what makes the map. Dandy dandy.[Edited on 06/08/07 @ 11:47 AM]
